Apple unveils new super-slim Air laptop computer Steve Jobs

MovieLessons.com Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs took the wraps off a super-slim new laptop at the Macworld trade show on Tuesday, unveiling a personal computer less than an inch thick that turns on the moment it’s opened. Jobs also confirmed the consumer electronics company’s foray into online movie rentals, revealing an alliance with all six major movie studios to offer films over high-speed Internet connections within 30 days after they’re released on DVD. Always a showman, Jobs unwound the string on a standard-sized manila office envelope and slid out the ultra-thin MacBook Air notebook computer to coos and peals of laughter from fans at the conference. At its beefiest, the new computer is 0.76 inches thick; at its thinnest, it’s 0.16 inches, he said. It comes standard with an 80-gigabyte hard drive, with the option of a 64GB flash-based solid state drive as an upgrade. The machine doesn’t come with a built-in optical drive for reading CDs and DVDs, a feature Jobs says consumers won’t miss because they can download movies and music over the Internet and access the optical drives on other PCs and Macs to install new software. They can buy an external drive, however, that will retail for . Trading in Apple stock was heavy Tuesday, the first day of the Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. It fell 5.52 percent to 8.91 at midday. The new laptop, which has a 13.3-inch screen and full-sized laptop keyboard, will cost 99 when it goes on sale in two

Betatestiphone4 . com , The iPhone is actually completely sold out in Apple outlets all across the nation, however you can receive a completely free one for agreeing to beta test the latest functions on the iPhone and reporting your experience to Apple.

even the thickest part of macbook air is still thinner than the thinnest part of TZ…

the world’s best notebooks? where does he get off?

  12. DJTEVAdotCOM says:

U will be spending more but looking prettier if you own a MAC…APPLE make money from accessories and all those extras you have to guy. This is what bootcamp is for. Come on people…you know why people like PCs because all the illegal softwares you can get…and that’s the truth!

  13. sousuke121 says:

@d1incharge Yes i do relise that, why else would i install Windows 7 on here also, But that 5% Includes ALL the software i use on a Daily basis, Which means that the software available for OSX is enough for me, And as i said i like the feel of Mac OS X More than Windows. Its my personal Preference.

  14. d1incharge says:

can I just have one button on my mouse please, all these options are hurting my brain.

  15. d1incharge says:

I am guessing, like every other ignorant mac user, that you dont realize 95% of the software in this world, wont work on mac OS. So yeah, they needed dual boot. you pay extra for a mac, just to pay extra for windows. The hardware is the same, for you to think the best way to run ANY software, is on a mac, is proof u=idiot. Macs latest and greatest hardware will always be technology that computer builders like me have seen for months…or years. Like I said, mac, simple, for the simple……

  16. sousuke121 says:

@d1incharge They didn’t have too make Boot Camp, The reason why they did was because they could, Apple like to put more into their machines, Apples windows Drivers are perfect and it makes a mac the best way to run windows too. I like both platforms, i have Windows 7 also installed on this laptop, but i do use Mac OS X As a primary OS because … i like its interface better than Windows. Mac OS X Has introduced allot more to the market than Windows wil ever do.

  17. d1incharge says:

apple rated fourth in reliabitlity in laptops……….anybody that knows computers well could name the #1 ASUS…………….who cares who was 2nd 3rd HILARIOUS that the most expensive apple couldnt even get into the top 3

  18. d1incharge says:

“user friendly” another way of saying “built simple for the simple”

  19. d1incharge says:

You cant, mac blows so bad, they had to start making them so that you can install windows……Mac OS needs less BECAUSE IT IS LESS…… like taking a new computer and installing PONG……People that pay for macs are idiots…….there is no denying that.

  20. DJTEVAdotCOM says:

Looking back…we realized that Steeve is such a big full of bull…..its 2009 and people realized macbook air limited connectivities and among other things that u have to dish out more of ur money to put in his pocket.

  21. gomeras40 says:

OS X Snow leopard, which I know has been said to be the best computer and or program which can’t do simple tasks. You get a computer with windows to do what you mac users call “Difficult”, you get a mac when you have the intelligence of a kindergartner. The mac lets you do shit like paint, but with you’re finger at the cost of 50 000 dollars.

  22. sousuke121 says:

My mac has changed from daylight savings time and to it with no problems.

And i use Mac OS X because its my PERSONAL Preference in computing. Which may i add is none of your buissness.

  23. gomeras40 says:

My bad, 2000$ dollars and possibly 3000 dollars for something I can make out of cardboard, a pen, tape and dog shit

  24. gomeras40 says:

Isn’t OS X the Mac that crashed while adjusting to Daylight savings time? That only furthers the conclusion that mac users are complete ignoramus’s. Who would spend 1500-200 dollars on something that breaks so easily, I do think you are a chip of the ol’ block, daddy must be proud to have such a stupid kid.

  25. mpasc3 says:

mac is good if it wasn’t you would of not heard of it and been watching this and thats not very nice to say cause he has cancer

  26. MrJetson13lol says:

    @S90id lol

  27. vi20RickrMetaL12us says:

@S90id thats stupid idiot think with a logical sense…if it overheated while you were watching this how in the fuck did you add the comment…maybe unless you came back…but how if the computer overheated or maybe you used another one,…but still lame…

  34. hrbear says:

@xeroxwizard Let’s turn to a nerd talk. If you are a male, you must not put the laptop on your legs for much time for the following reason. Your balls are located outside of your body because they have to be at 33 Celsius. Your body is at 36 degrees Celsius. If you use to put the laptop on your legs, you may raise the temperature of your balls by 3 degrees, so this is dangerous for your fertility. (and it’s not a joke).

  35. hrbear says:

@Proxyon16 Some models contain a small fan but that’s nothing. If you think that modern CPUs require these gigantic coolers and 120 cm fans to take the heat away, how can such amount of heat escape from a laptop easily? It’s not the battery only, the battery heats during charging or discharging. There is also the CPU heat sink and the graphics card heat sink which are widely located inside the laptop and get the computer hot. The disk, the chipset, the RAM….

  36. ivan14wreck says:

Help from anybody! Long story short..I left my Compaq presario f700 laptop inside my backpack in the car for about 45min-1 hours. It was around 90+ outside. When I turned it on again…I managed to log on to the desktop..and the whole desk was just white. Turned it off manually…click on my user account to log in…nothing anymore. Has anyone ever by accident left their laptop in their car on a hot day? :/

  37. Proxyon16 says:

@monkeynut000 Well I have an Acer Aspire 7738G, and it’s pretty powerful. However when I start playing for example Battlefield Bad Company 2 the CPU goes to 93 degrees celsius.

  38. kiwi20069 says:

omg u my hero, ive been wanting to know why my laptop kept on turning off… thnks.

    i have a Dell inspiron 1720..
and at times when im using it the battery dies real quick so i use it while its hooked up to the charger and the Laptop and Charger brick thing both heat up.. can your computer crash completely by overheating? should i not use it while its charging?

  42. CrazyTacoGuy303 says:

    @elskepode2
yeah mine did the same thing on 2 separate occasions..
but it just turned itself on and i turned it back on right after and it was working again..? lucky me though..

  43. ChuckNorr13579 says:

  44. ilias900 says:

    @Proxyon16
mine overheats all the time too… its freaking annoying, just had to shut down mass effect 2 because it began lagging

  45. Proxyon16 says:

what about cooling, and fans, like…in the back of the computer that blow out air? isn’t that like cooling or something?

  46. Proxyon16 says:

@monkeynut000 what acer do you have? because I have an Acer, and it overheats alll the time when gaming.

  47. cornerbox says:

i have an advent 5711…its starting to switch itself off and rebooting with no warning..then i get the sodding blue screen crap..what do i do? anybody please? is it from overheating?

  48. 1337shellc0der says:

dell labtops ASLO have batteries underneath…hmmm didnt know that sir

  49. WindowsAndMacintosh says:

Nobody follows these steps because nobody really cares about their laptops overheating.

Either way, the new MacBooks (Late 2009/Mid 2010) only get hot in the back, so they’re cold on your lap, for the most part.

  50. elskepode2 says:

i got a BSOD ( Blue Screen Of Death ) and it crashed and turned off then i set it down for a while and i turned it back on and it worked again?
